random sass & musing™

quips + wits + sarcasm + sageness = random sass & musing™

i'm attempting to type this with a squirmy min-pin in my lap. she is entranced with the tiny cursor as it moves across the screen.

life has been on turbo lately, hence the lack of updates. my house continues to be in a perpetual state of renovations. i'm growing used to strange men being in my house at weird hours. don't tell my parents.

this past weekend eric & i headed up to see my oldest & dearest friend holly & her husband andy (not to mention her baby the pug, shazzbutt aka the butt). holly works as an international recruiter for a private woman's college in virginia, so she travels quite a bit. since her job also takes her to recruiting in NC we get together occasionally while she's here. of course the time is never enough. sometimes i wonder why we spend an exorbinant amount of time on work more than on relationships. regardless, i'm glad we still get together & it's always a good time even if we're supposed to go to a bbq & blues festival that consists of 25 people sitting in a parking lot with a horrible band playing & one tent selling barbecue. don't ask.

eric was amused that holly gave me lots of take home goodies like a hand blender they didn't want (& one like i've been looking at buying), two cans of rutabega (who knew they canned rutabega?) (who actually knows what to do with canned rutabega?), & a pair of lime green flip-flops that came with a kit for adding some weird floral thing to them. they came from her mother-in-law. no comment.

the time eric & i spent together was a good thing. there are never certainties with relationships. right now we realize we have some things to work through which will take time. it's just making a decision as to whether they are workable things.

right now, however, i have a scratchy throat & what i believe may be the beginning of a summer cold. blast! so rest is essential.

the sass left the building tonight but shall return in full force soonly. love to all.
