ah, sweet, beautiful weekend is on the horizon.

*cue angelic chorus*

i'm wearing a sleeveless blouse at work today due to the warm weather. it's supposed to be lower 70s today. in december. i ask, how is one to be in the christmas spirit with heat like that? somehow chestnuts roasting on an open fire makes me sweaty. but i don't sweat, i glow. right, don't look at me after an aerobics class.

speaking of aerobics my gym opened finally. & then politely informed me that my pool isn't open until march. I WANT MY H20! water aerobics, so good, so fine. the perfect place to meet a replacement grandma. i'm just sayin'.

CASEY always finds pretty things & THESE are no exception.

in the same vein of discussing pretty things, BICKETT GALLERY'S ARTISTS LIST still features holly miller's work which i find pleasing & delightful to the eye. i have some canvases i need to paint for my wall which may be done this weekend. i need inspiration pieces, as GENEVIEVE GORDER would say.

speaking of inspiration, the afore-mentioned casey's TUBS inspires me to want a bubble bath in front of a large swirly sky.

final musing today ... my swift powers of observation show in a biased study that people can easily reveal their expectations when in normal, every day sitautions. case in point, i have a coworker who assumes this horrid, squeaky voice when she request something from someone on the phone. i noted to her one day that her voice goes up an octave when she seems nervous to request something. she agreed. another example, in BRUEGGERS (mmmm, brueggers) yesterday, the woman in front of me said everything as a question:

um, can i have a plain bagel? with olive & pimento cream cheese? & have it toasted? &, um, can i have a small coke with that?" note there's no evidence of a please in there & everything is as if she was asking their parents' permission for something.

compare & contrast with my request:

hi, i'd like a honey grain bagel, toasted, with strawberry jam. & a diet coke, please. succint, to the point, yet polite.

people are weiwd.
