only because it's such heinous fun, please feel free to make your own motivational poster.

on another topic completely, what is the chance that one day there will be free wireless access anywhere & everywhere? am i a dreamer to want that? since i got my laptop, i've been to a few places here & there seeking free wireless. there are the usual coffeeshops & cafés which boast their "free wifi" signs. then there are those places like barnes & noble or $tarbuck$ which require that you pay a fee for wireless access. i suppose one could look at it as "rent" of sorts. you pay a fee to squat on their territory for a bit & mooch off their wireless. heh - i said the word squat. nevertheless, the world could be lovely with more wireless, although there is that security issue.

speaking of security, this morning's the today show did a segment on phishing & identity theft. essentially they did an experiment with a local bank, using ten people who were "friends & family of the bank's employees". they had a security expert create a similar homepage & email letter to end to these individuals. the letter requested that they confirm their identity information by filling in forms with their social security number, mother's maiden name, & banking account information. they had at least several of the friends & family actually reply, despite questioning whether they should. for serious? people still fall for the fake ebay emails & nigerian family without money scheme?! i was quite amazed.

identity theft is creepy, y'all. it will follow you to your grave. i read somewhere that it can take approximately 600 hours of legwork to remedy the issue of identity theft. 600 hours! that's 25 full days. as if you don't have other things to do with your time while creepy peeps are living it up under your name. rather frightening.

in other news, i have a public service announcement for the fellows: valentine's day is tomorrow. you can thank me later for the reminder.
